“Light the Night” fundraising walk

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society held its path "Light the Night" on Saturday for donations to support cancer research and the blood of patients with this deadly disease.

In Clearwater, joined hundreds of participants in the dark on a road two miles to Bright House Field, with balloons of red, white and gold in their hands.

Promotes red balloons, white balloons for survivors and patients, while yellow balloons in memory of those who succumb to the disease incurable.

Speaking of going fundraising, said campaign manager Monica Sayers, "Our goal is to raise funds of $ 600,000 in this year and the money to go in search and rescue efforts to find a cure for blood cancers" .

Last year, National Night Light heal increased to nearly $ 41 million to support research and help patients to live a fulfilling life.
